Welcome to the official launch of donfarland.com. I registered this domain a few years ago, but never did much with it. I had some grand ideas for various side hustles, but I never found anything that really excited me.
Then, about 3 months ago, I found it. While browsing the list of podcasts in iTunes, I stumbled on the strangest description:
Voice actor Matthew Mercer leads a group of fellow voice actors on epic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. These familiar voices bring the audience into the full experience of D&D, allowing imaginations to soar as the characters embark on adventures. This is Critical Role!
I fired up the first episode and started following the Critical Role podcast that day. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the cast of Vox Machina and Matt Mercer’s style of DMing.
Fast forward to today and I’m running a weekly game for my teenaged children and attending a weekly drop-in game at a local jazz bar on Sunday nights. I would have never predicted it back when I registered the domain, but I discovered rediscovered something that motivated me to put this site to use … Dungeons & Dragons.
Now, I am still working out my vision, but I plan to use this site to chronicle my journey as both a player and a DM. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
