Westruun in Wonderdraft

Last updated on February 11, 2020

Soon after I picked up the Critical Role: Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting book, I started DM’ing a game in Matthew Mercer’s Exandria. The campaign guide has been a fabulous resource, but there simply not enough maps. The book has regional maps for the continent of Tal’Dorei, but nothing for the other continents. As for the cities, it has maps for Emon and Whitestone, but nothing for the other cities … like Westruun.

Of all the cities not included in the campaign guide, Westruun was the one I was missing the most. It was about to become the focal point of my campaign for a good period of time. I could get by without it, but I knew it would make my descriptions of the city, locations, routes, etc richer and more detailed. I saw some great city maps in the Wonderdraft Reddit and thought I’d give it a shot. So without further ado, here is my take on the great city of the Diving Plains.

My interpretation of the city of Westruun from the Critical Role: Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting book.
My interpretation of the city of Westruun. Created in Wonderdraft with help from the MFCG.

I plan to create a video tutorial on how I made the map, but it is not quite ready yet. I hope to have it up within the week. In the meantime, feel free to download the 4K version of the map here.

Given my players are within striking distance of Kymal, Turst Fields, and Jorenn Village, I have to decide which I should map next. Any thoughts?

Thank you for stopping by & happy gaming,
