A lot has changed in the world of Wonderdraft. The software has advanced tremendously in a year. Version 1.1.1 is out as of this note and you can do so much more now. In the same amount of time, a number of talented artists have released beautiful assets to help you create truly stunning town and city maps. As a result, this tutorial is a little out-of-date. It still works, but you can do much better now.
I have been busy with other projects of late, but if I get around to updating this tutorial, I’ll post a link here.
After I posted my map of Westruun, I received a number of requests to create a quick tutorial. With my players heading to the town of Turst Fields in the Dividing Plains of Tal’Dorei, I decided to make it the focus of the tutorial. I finally completed the map and video and posted them to my YouTube channel earlier today. For your convenience, the video is embedded below.
The town of Turst Fields does not have any distinguishing features or landmarks. The show barely warrants a mention in the show. It is a passing reference two or three times at most. This makes it the perfect subject for this tutorial. The town is a blank slate you can customize any way you want.
