Yesterday, I posted a new video on my YouTube channel. A video that is long overdue. In this video, I explain the basics of Extensible Markup Language (XML) and how it is used in Fight Club 5. I will let the video do most of the work, but the XML format is what makes it easy to export, import, and share compendium content.
In the video, I cover the basics. What XML is and how it works. I cover the basics of organizing data, formatting, and adding comments to your own custom compendiums. It is a high-level overview, but one that should help you get started managing your own D&D content. I also explain the basic data types used by Fight Club 5 and the various fields that drive the application.
If you want to look at an example, you can download the compendium included with Fight Club 5 or you can download mine. You can find my compendium here. The most recent update and the changes it implemented are posted here.
