The only thing I could think of while creating the Jungle Bridge battle map was the movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Widely regarded as one of the weaker Indy movies (thank you Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for getting ToD off the hook), Temple of Doom is a movie that has always been special to me. It was the first Indy movie I saw in the theater and it will be forever remembered fondly.
As I worked on this Jungle makeover of 2 Minute Tabletop’s amazing Rope Bridge map, I just kept thinking back to this iconic scene.
That scene in the movie is one of the big reasons I love the base rope bridge map. I’ve included it in a one-shot and I can’t wait to see how my players handle the encounter.
The Jungle Bridge battle map is very large at roughly 16MB each. I created it at a real-world size of 22″x17″ (four 8.5″x11″ pieces of paper) at a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. You may have to shrink them for your virtual tabletop, but they’ll look great printed.
This is a companion to my Jungle Camp battle map and will be included in an upcoming one-shot. Stay tuned for the one-shot and the other maps in the series.
Once again, special thanks go out to Ross McConnell at 2 Minute Tabletop. His Rope Bridge map and assets from a number of his packs were essential to making this map. Please stop by 2MinuteTabletop and check out his amazing work.
